Ellen Peete, nominated for the Committee on the Charter for Racial Justice, attends Ashbury United Methodist Church and is Lay Leader and choir member there.  She serves on the Memphis Conference Board of Pensions and is District Treasurer for the United Methodist Women at the church. She was a McKendree District Lay Leader and a 2000 Delegate to the General Conference. She as also served on the General Conference Board of Finance and on the Memphis Conference Board of Trustees.

 Myra Cleaver, nominated for Committee on Nominations, has an extensive record ofservice with United Methodist Women.  She has proudly served the United Methodist Women since 1999.  She has held posts in her local unit at Dexter Hardin United Methodist Church (past president, secretary and program leader), in Paducah District  level as Education and Interpretation Officer.  She’s been an Assistant Dean and Dean  of CMEE for the Memphis Conference United

Mary Lou Wurth, nominated for Vice President, has served seven years as the Paducah District Council of ministries chair, two years a vice chair before chair. She was the Conference council on ministry secretary for several years. Mary Lou was local church treasurer for 20 years.  She has served as a Sunday School teacher for youth and for adults. She is also a certified Lay Speaker and has been serving Oakwood United Methodist Church for ten years. She speaks two Sundays a month.  

   Mary Lou has directed Vacation Bible School, and she has  worked with Boy Scout Troop 6 in Paducah where her nephew is a member. She’s served as a merit badge counselor for the cycling merit badge.  She’s worked on fundraisers and helped with two Eagle Scout projects and will be a very proud Aunt when Michael becomes an Eagle in the next few months. She is currently co-leading Disciple One Bible study.  In her spare time (!) her hobbies are knitting, crochet, reading, gardening and sewing.

Methodist Women as well as Membership, Nurture and Outreach Coordinator. She’s also served as a Member of the Committee of Nominations for the Southeastern Jurisdiction Regional School.   She’s also held many positions at church including, but not limited to the Pastor, Parish Relations Committee, Decorations Committee, MYF Leader, teaching Kindergarten and Teen class Sunday school, and holding the positions of Bible School and Christmas Program Coordinator.   She’s also been active in the church District participating in in various activities and serving on many teams. She holds a BS in English and Speech from Murray State University, as well as a Masters Degree in Arts Speech Education, Creative Dramatics Emphasis, also from MSU.  She retired in 2000 from Marshall County High School after teaching in Marshall County schools for 27 years.    She’s participated in  the Emmaus Community, is a member of Kentucky and Marshall County Retired Teachers, and a founding member of Marshall County Arts Council.  She is also an Eastern Star. She’s married to Donald L. Cleaver, and they have two sons, Terry and Tracy.  They also have four grandchildren.  She enjoys decorating, reading, flower gardening and sewing.
